07.03.2024
Are you excited to share your 3D model of a cultural heritage object with the world? 3D Heritage makes online storage and online viewing of 3D models easy. Here's a quick guide to get you started:
Before You Begin
- Ensure your 3D model is in a compatible format: We support a variety of popular 3D file formats, in a ZIP file:
- Supported formats for 3D: .abc, .blend, .dae, .fbx, .obj, .stl, .glb, .gltf
- Supported formats for point cloud: .ply
- Supported formats for textures: .jpg, .png
- Optimize your 3D model: For a smooth viewing experience, it's recommended to optimize your 3D model for web delivery. This might involve reducing the polygon count while maintaining visual quality.
The Submission Process
Please, get in touch with our representatives () and our team will prepare you a hosting offer, based on your needs (number and size of 3D models).
Currently, the upload and management of 3D models is done by Arctur’s professional team as the 3D Heritage is still in beta version.
Sharing Your Contribution
Upon upload, your 3D model will be accessible through the 3D Heritage portal. Using oEmbed function, you will be able to embed your 3D model into your website and share it with your audiences.
Anyone can explore your model, gain insights through the integrated measurement tools, and appreciate the cultural heritage it represents.
Additional Tips
- High-quality visuals: Consider including additional visuals alongside your 3D model, such as historical photographs or informative text panels. This can further enrich the user experience.
- Promotional opportunities: Explore opportunities to promote your model on relevant websites, social media platforms, or educational resources.
By contributing your 3D model to 3D Heritage, you're playing a part in preserving cultural heritage and making it accessible to a global audience. Let's work together to share the stories of the past for generations to come!
